"For
of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be
glory for ever. Amen." Romans 11:36.
In similar fashion, the Westminster Catechism says that the
chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. This
is the heart of the worship experience - glorifying God our Father,
praising Jesus Christ our Savior, and embracing the Holy Spirit.
"Be joyful always, pray continuously." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17. In a recent self-study, our congregation identified itself as a praying congregation, not boastfully, but in recognition of the deep need to be in contact with God. During the worship service, corporate prayer is a time when we can express thanks for answered prayers and petition God to comfort and heal the hurts and concerns for ourselves and others. Through prayer, traditional and contemporary music by the chancel choir and praise team, and the spoken word of our pastor and worship leaders, WNUPC hopes to bring honor and glory to God, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
We invite you to worship with us on Sundays at 10:00AM in the sanctuary as led by Reverend Patrick A. Sileo.
"Do this in remembrance of me." -
Luke 22:19
Communion is a time
when we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us so that we may
be reconciled to God. You do not have to a member of WNUPC to
share in the Lord's Supper. The only requirement is that you
have personally accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you
have never communed with us, please know that the elements are
passed to the congregation by elders of the church.
Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month, Ash Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday. On occasion, communion may be offered at other times but these would be under special arrangement. If physical limitations prevent you from attending worship but you would like to receive communion, please contact our pastor to arrange for home communion.
"He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit." -
Matthew 3:11
Baptism is the public confession of belief in Jesus Christ and
the initial step into membership in the church of Jesus Christ!
In the case of infant baptism, the parents make the commitment
to teach the child about Jesus Christ and introduce the child
into the life of the church. Adult baptism is the
statement by the adult that Jesus Christ is their Lord and
Savior and they want to be a part of the church. The
church also makes the commitment to welcome and nurture the one
being baptized and bring them into the body of Christ!
